About Neeraj Shridhar
- Band Formation: Neeraj Shridhar from Jallandhar, Punjab moved to Sweden at age 13 and developed a music passion. He formed "Bombay Vikings" in 1994 in Europe, performing English songs with an Indian twist. Band members later dispersed; Neeraj continued the band in India with remaining members.
- "Kya Soorat Hai" (1999): First album with 8 tracks, remakes of Indian songs with English lyrics and minimal Hindi. Released by Sony BMG in India despite initial industry skepticism. Successful, especially among teenagers, with popular tracks like "Kya Soorat Hai", "Mona Re", and "Night Is So Perfect". Videos for "Kya Soorat Hai" and "Mona Re" were significant hits.
- "Woh Chali" (2000): Follow-up album blending remakes and original music established Neeraj as a world-class composer. Hits included "Woh Chali", "Jambola", "Angel Eyes", and "Jump Up". "Angel Eyes" gained international success. Lata Mangeshkar praised the remake of her song "Main Chali". Videos for "Woh Chali", "Jambola", and "Angel Eyes" were produced.
- "Hawa Mein Udati Jaaye" (2002): Album made old songs appealing to youth. Featured guest singers Linnea Sporres and Falguni Pathak. Succesful videos produced for "Hawa Mein Udati Jaaye" and "Tera Mera Pyaar Sanam". Also released "The Best Of Bombay Vikings" and a song for "Rules:Pyar Ka Superhit Formula".
- "Chhodh Do Aanchal Zamana Kya Kahega and Fusion Remixes" (2004): Album title track and singles "Ik Badal" and "Aa Raha Hoon Main" were hits, with popular videos. Produced single "Hum To Anything Karega" and the "Fusion Remixes" album combining various artists' songs.
- "Zara Nazron Se Kehdo" (2006): Another hit album featuring a video starring Celina Jaitly. Video for "Mere Dil Ne" also made. Marked the final Bombay Vikings album before Neeraj's Bollywood break.
- Rise to Bollywood (2006): Neeraj began playback singing with "Tumko Dekha" for "God Tussi Great Ho", followed by successful songs "Halke Halke" and "Bhagam Bhaag". "Bhagam Bhaag"'s video was at the time most expensive in Bollywood.
- Continuing Bollywood Success (2007): Delivered multiple hits like "Ticket To Hollywood", "Heyy Babyy", "Ishq Subhan Allah", "Ishq Ka Kalma", and "Bhool Bhulaiyaa". "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" nominated for Filmfare awards. Worked with many Bollywood music directors, primarily Pritam.
- Bollywood Hits in (2008): Hit songs for films like "Race", "Chandni Chowk To China", "Billu", "Golmaal Returns", among others. Sang in multiple languages including Telugu. Wrote songs "Ae Aa o", "Vacancy", and "Aayaare".
- Bollywood Projects (2009): Sang for numerous films and was involved in successful tracks including "Pal Yeh Aane Wala Pal", "Prem Ki Naiyya", "Twist", "Chor Bazari", and "Tum Mile".
- Reduced Bollywood Focus (2010): Less activity due to personal album work. Notable songs included "Mera Jeena Hai Kya" from "Aashayein" and "Kya" from "Crook: It's Good To Be Bad". Also sang in "Golmaal 3" and "Break Ke Baad".
- Bollywood Work (2011): Sang "Rab Sab Se Sona" for "F.A.L.T.U", hit "Character Dheela" for "Ready", and tracks for "Chalo Dilli" and "Thank You".
