Sanjay Bangar, the former Indian cricketer and current cricket coach, has been a driving force in shaping the Indian batting unit. Born on October 11, 1972, in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, this right-handed batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler made his international debut for the Indian cricket team in 2001.

Bangar's international career spanned 12 Test matches and 15 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for India. In Tests, he amassed 470 runs with an average of 27.64, including a century and a half-century. In ODIs, he scored 180 runs at an average of 18.00. Not only was Bangar known for his solid technique, but also his ability to anchor the innings. He also had a useful knack for picking up wickets, taking 12 in the Test format and 4 in ODIs.

Retiring from international cricket marked a new chapter in Bangar's life, as he transitioned into coaching. He was appointed as the batting coach of the Indian cricket team in 2014. Under his guidance, players like Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Ajinkya Rahane reached new heights, achieving several milestones and consistently performing well in all formats of the game.

Although his coaching stint with the Indian team ended in 2019, Bangar's impact on the sport continues. He has since served as a coach for various domestic cricket teams, including the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
