DJ/producer/remixer/composer Bhuvanish Vichitra, better known as DJ Bhuvi is recognized as one of the world's most innovative icons of the Punjabi / Bhangra / Bollywood genre. He propels listeners into the future of Punjabi and Bollywood music by constructing innovative and forward-thinking concept albums (DJ BHUVI's 1 HUNDRED%) and live events that blur the boundaries between artist and DJ.
Refusing to limit himself to DJ work, Bhuvi has continually explored his various interests as an adept remixer, songwriter, producer and model/actor. And recognizing this immense talent, Jazzy B's Speed Records (India) and Moviebox Records (UK) signed him on to release his first album. He established himself as a formidable, in-demand remixer by reconstructing tracks from an incredible array of Bollywood tracks which included hits like De Daru (Desi Mix), Woh Sikander Hi and Mushkil Bada Yeh Pyar Hai. His original composition, the super-hit track Club Nachda refuses to die down, as even today it can be heard in clubs and on radios around the world. In his career spanning nearly a decade as a disc jockey, he has accomplished what people only dream of. His motto in life is to never stop growing!
Known to produce several Bhangra hits, his music is influenced by various genres of music including reggae, funk, dancehall, hip hop and house. He has worked with top names in the Bhangra and Bollywood music industry and performed on some of the biggest stages.
The album - DJ BHUVI's 1 HUNDRED% was launched in October 2008 and is still a big hit with the audience with the superhit launch track - CLUB NACHDA, which was a regular on radio stations and nightclubs across the world for over a year and a half. The next track was DE DARU, which reached Number 2 on the BBC Asian Network Charts UK, within 2 days of it being on air. The album featured lyrics and music from traditional bhangra to asian hip-hop to dance-hall and floor banging Bollywood remixes.
The next album titled DJ BHUVI XS has been released on India's biggest music label T-Series. It features voices of Master Saleem, Labh Janjua, Charanjeet Channi, Peppery a.k.a. Bongo Chilli (U.K.), Ranjit Teji (U.S.A.) and many more. It's got lyrics from the likes of Satta Kotliwala, Hardeep Mahal, Davinder Magrala and Dj Bhuvi himself.
The album promises to be a favorite of the people and Dj's alike as it features massive club bangers and also melodious summer time tunes. The music of the album is a fusion of traditional Bhangra with international genres like hip-hop, dancehall, funk, reggae and reggae-ton.
The launch track titled - Thodi Hor Peen Do features powerful vocals of Charanjeet Channi, who already has a few hits to his name and lyrics by Satta Kotliwala. The track promises to be huge hit with the young crowd because of the catchy vocals that make you want to sing along, and powerful Bhangra and Hip-Hop beats that make you want to dance. The track is dance-floor filler and is bound to be a favorite with the radio stations and nightclubs of the world.
The next track set for release is titled - Dream Girl which features the voice of the legendary Master Saleem and lyrics by Dj Bhuvi. It promises to be a summer time hit with its soothing composition, modern Punjabi vocals and groovy reggae beats.
Other tracks on the album include more club bangers and features collaborations with international talents like rap artist Peppery a.k.a. Bongo Chilli from U.K., singer Ranjit Teji (U.S.A.) Some of Dj Bhuvi's personal favorite tracks (including the first two to be released) are Kudi Milaadey, Life Banaadey and Jawani which features vocals of new talents Jagdeep Jublee and Arjun Arry respectively.
