Personal life
Dev Joshi was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Born to Dushyant Kumar Joshi and Devangana Joshi, he completed his senior secondary education from Hiramani Sr. Secondary School, Ahmedabad, and is currently graduating from LD Arts College, Ahmedabad with Bachelors in Mass Communication and Media as a student of Political Science.
Career
Dev Joshi, popularly known as Baal Veer among kids, started acting at a young age in stage performances, theatre, advertisements, and regional Gujarati shows. He made his debut on Hindi television with Mahima Shani Dev Ki as Young Shukra in different episodes in 2009-10 which aired on NDTV Imagine. He also played the lead role of Young Shaurya in Kashi - Ab Na Rahe Tera Kagaz Kora in 2010. In 2012, he was cast for the lead role of Baal Veer in Baal Veer which aired on Sony SAB. He became a household name with the kid's fantasy series as he came to be known as Baalveer among the audience. After playing this role till 2016, he moved on to play teenage Chandrashekhar Azad in the Star Bharat's show Chandrashekhar. In 2019, he returned to Sony SAB to play his popular character of Baalveer in its sequel, Baalveer Returns.
