About Anusha Mani

Anusha Mani is an Indian female playback singer who works actively in the Bollywood film industry. Singer and lyricist, popularly known as ‘The Voice of Gulaabo’, Anusha Mani started singing at an early age. She has had a diverse career working with some of the most renowned music directors such as Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Amit Trivedi. Her unmatched abilities to sing emotional, soulful and peppy songs have made Anusha Mani one of the most sought after singers and live performers.

Her big break came in 2007, when Shankar Mahadevan of Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy offered her the chance to sing the track Dhoka from Johnny Gaddaar after listening to an album she'd appeared on. She has since then worked in about six albums with the trio to date. She had also sung and written the track Dil Mein Jaagi from the Dev.D, which won Amit Trivedi the National Film Award for Best Music Direction. She also does concerts for musicians. Her Lehrein song which was written by Javaid Akhtar was included in Aisha Movie. The Fearless & fabulous Anusha was a part of the TV show MTV Angles of Rock where she along with Shalmali Kholgade, Jasmine Sandlas & Akasa Singh set out on an epic road trip & inspired women from all across the nation, performing some of their amazing original composition 5

She carved a niche for herself in Bollywood right from her first song ‘Dhoka’ from Johnny Gaddaar. Anusha has sung super hit numbers such as ‘Gulaabo’ (Shaandaar), ‘Tera Rastaa Chhodoon Na’ (Chennai Express), ‘Lehrein’ (Aisha), ‘Lazy Lamhe’ (Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic), ‘Zara Dil ko Thaam Lo’ (Don 2) and Dil Me Jaagi (Dev D). Besides playback singing, her hearty non-film songs ‘Savera’, ‘Nafarmani’ and ‘Chal Ri Sakhi’ have brought her great appreciation. She has also lent her voice in the song ‘Boureya’ from Zee5’s ‘Broken But Beautiful 2’ web-series.

Anusha was a part of the TV show called MTV Angels of Rock along with singers Shalmali, Jasmine Sandlas and Akasa where she set out on an epic road trip in India. Their participation shed light on various issues faced by women and celebrated womanhood. She has also been a mentor on the reality show ‘Love Me India’ (&TV) and appeared in ‘The Love Laugh Live’ show Season 2 on various channels of Times Television Network. Anusha along with her husband Sangeet Haldipur have been winning hearts on the internet with their recent collaboration ‘Carmonies’, which is a series of cover songs.
