About Tomislav English

Tomislav English is a performer, movement director, sports scientist and former professional dancer. He was trained in dance at The Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and London Contemporary Dance School, graduating with a first class BA (Hons) Degree, and at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Dance and Music, for his MSc Dance Science. He trained as an actor at the prestigious Oxford School of Drama. After graduating from LCDS he performed extensively with companies such as UK immersive theatre giants Punchdrunk in the award winning productions of The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable and the Macbeth adaptation Sleep No More, and with legendary Flemish director Wim Vandekeybus and his company Ultima Vez in Brussels, in addition to guest appearances with the English National Ballet, Protein Dance Theatre and The National Theatre London. In 2015 Tomislav was cast in Joe Wright's PAN, an adaptation of J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan, working closely with Rooney Mara, Levi Miller and movement director Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and later was brought in as a movement coach for the cast of Tom Hooper's 2019 big-screen adaptation of CATS. Tomislav played a substantial role in the devising and performance of The Third Day: Autumn alongside Jude Law, a 12 hour live-to-air theatrical performance produced by Sky, HBO and Punchdrunk. When reflecting upon working with Tomislav and his colleagues Law stated, "Those guys were phenomenal. They were so impressive in their control of how they physically manoeuvred me. Often, when you're not in control and someone else is doing the physical stuff you can get injured. They were so safe, so trustworthy." in 2015 Tomislav founded Ferus Animi // Terra Nova, a movement research collective that works in movement education and coaching extensively across film, theatre and professional sports....
