About Tim D. Janis
Tim D. Janis was born on an Air Force Base in Northern California. Within months moving to Ohio before transfer to Belgium and Germany. While in Europe his family traveled to France, England, Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain as he became an "observer" of the details of people and culture. Returning to the US and Ohio for first and second grade before orders to move. Their next home was on Mercury Drive, Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico as his father trained to go to Vietnam.In Albuquerque, his first skills in film came as the family rented horses every weekend to ride in the Four Hills east of Albuquerque. His father's training in photography was used to film brother Jerry, sister Teresa and Tim galloping up Arroyos or riding into Ghost towns in character hitting their marks. Tim was taught photo/film developing at the Base Photo Lab at age 8.In college, he began training, then teaching and choreographing stunt work in fistfight, gunfight, and shortfall. This training was later combined with his martial arts skills as a Black Belt and rewarded with the compliment of Producers trusting him with their most important asset. Their lead actor's safety in fight scenes. He committed to developing his acting skills through training, including traveling to Hollywood to take an intensive taught by Howard Fine, at the Howard Fine Studio. Adding Improv training with the gifted and generous Alan Arkin in Santa Fe.Fortunate to act on high-level projects with extremely talented actors. On the set of Dreamland Tim watched the powerful and talented actress Margot Robbie who he calls a "Bad Ass" set the standard on set as the lead, and also to have her be his boss as a producer on the film. There he was fortunate to meet and work with Travis Fimmel, Darby Camp, and Pab Schwendimann.Although his credits are limited, he has performed in projects with Academy Award winners, Emmy winners, and Producer elite. Not many actors can say they were in a Spielberg production, Into the West. Or almost be choked to death with a golf club in Carriers by Chris Pine. On Carriers, he was fortunate to work with the talented Emily Van Camp, Lou Taylor Pucci, and Piper Perabo. Grateful to work on projects with award winners from Dennis Hopper, Kelsey Grammer, Gary Oldman, Robert Urich and more. Acting....
