About Shelley K. Booker
Shelley K Booker is a classically trained actor who started her theatrical & commercial career in London, England after attending East 15 Acting School. Her first stage appearance was at the Theatre Royal Stratford East Directed by Carolyn Eves in a charity variety show benefitting the theatre's repair. From there, she settled in LA to pursue Film, Television, Voice Over and Commercial work. Later, she moved back to her hometown New York City, and found success working in the Film & Commercial Industry. Ultimately, Shelley settled in California where she works as an Actor, Director, Writer, Producer, DLSE Certified Studio Teacher & Credentialled bilingual K-12 Educator/Acting Teacher. She holds a BA in Theatre from UC Irvine/Minor in Bio Science, a Bachelor's in Spanish, a Post Graduate Theatre Degree in Classical Theatre from East 15 Acting School London as well as a Master's in Teaching. Shelley divides her time between California and The World at large depending on where her work brings her. Her latest role is on Hulu's raucous Emmy Nominated comedy hit, The PEN15 SHOW as Derrick's Mom. Shelley is also featured in the High School Comedy, MAMABOY playing Mrs. Hankins where she navigates parenting her pregnant SON! Shelley can be seen in several National Commercials (Disney Princess Little Mermaid, IMB & Trinet ) as well as a small role in Woody Allen's film BLUE JASMINE starring Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin and Peter Sarsgaard, and has just finished being a stern Audition Judge in the Award Winning Short, 'Selling Rosario'-(Selling Rosario tells the story of a young girl growing up in a migrant labor camp and her parents' risky plan to get her out of an unsafe, squalid environment) Shelley seen playing herself in "Couple's Therapy" as a Teacher! In 2021, Shelley began her Stand-Up career with her 1st successful appearance at The Sacramento Punchline-She has written a screenplay/pilot called FAIRYTALES ARE FOR LOSERS which is in PreProduction! She is an avid athlete, outdoors person, traveler, gardener and has added mountain climbing to her list of hobbies!
