About Shô Oyamada

Sho Oyamada, born in Tochigi prefecture Japan, got his B.S. in Systems Management at a University in Colorado. After graduation he joined Deloitte Consulting as a Consultant in Tokyo. A few years later he went on to attend the Henley Business School in Reading, U.K., where he studied Investment and Banking. After graduating he joined UBS Tokyo and London as a Proprietary Bond Trader. He found success in the finance industry, eventually becoming the youngest Managing Director at the Tokyo branch of an American Investment bank.At the age of 35, he decided to give up his lucrative banking career and pursue his childhood dream of acting. His decision to go into acting, at an age when most Japanese careers in entertainment began at childhood, was a challenge but through hard work, perseverance and mastering his craft, he began to get small roles, such as; Tokumei kakarichô Tadano Hitoshi: Saigo no gekijôban (2008). Zen (2009). And Randebû! (2010).In 2010, Sho landed a major role as "Seio Watanabe", in the China Hunan Satellite TV series, The Legend of Yang Guifei (2010) starring Anthony Wong, often doing his own wire stunts and sword fighting.He was cast for a leading role, "Kei Matsuda" in Klevani: Ai no Tunnel(2014). Filmed in Ukraine with cooperation with the Ukraine Embassy of Japan, it was filmed at the famous Verdant tunnel called "Tunnel Of Love" in Klevani.In 2016, as Akihisa Yanagi, he appears in Shin Godzilla which took seven Japanese Academy awards in Tokyo that year, the most of any of the nominees. The film earned $72 million at the Japanese box office in 2016.Aside from acting, Sho has been hosting his own radio show since 2012 called "Sho's Cinema Supplement" at Rainbow Town FM (88.5), which covers the entire Tokyo area of over 130 million people. His show is comparable to "Inside the Actors Studio by James Lipton". Sho's program features guests who work behind camera such as Producers, Directors and so on. Some of the past notable guests were Venice Film Festival winning Director Shin'ya Tsukamoto, and Berlin International Film Festival winning director Takahisa Zeze.His strong work ethics and his unwavering passion payed off when he signed with Stardust Promotion Co., LTD, headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, a leading Japanese talent agency which enjoys a dominant share in the management of Actors, Actresses, Artists and Singers.In late 2016, Sho moved to Los Angeles to further his career in Hollywood and he immediately began to be casted for many roles in films, dramas, music videos and commercials....
