Michael Dunaway is the Editor of the Film Section of Paste Magazine, the Creative Director of the Sarasota Film Festival, and the Founding Partner of Gasoline Films and of Poitier & Dunaway Motion Pictures. He is the director and a writer, producer, and actor in 6 Love Stories, starring Peter Bogdanovich, Carrie Preston, Stephen Tobolowsky, Alicia Witt, and others. He was the producer and director of 21 Years: Richard Linklater, a Gravitas Ventures release which stars Matthew McConaughey, Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy, Zac Efron, and many others, and was a New York Times Critics Pick which debuted at #8 on iTunes. He was also the producer and director of The Man Who Ate New Orleans, with Oscar nominee Morgan Spurlock, Emmy winner Natalia Livingston, and James Beard winners John Currence and John Besh.Previously he was a producer and director on several shorter projects, including serving as segment director on Frank Kelly's groundbreaking film 140, which won the Bronze Palm at the Mexico Int'l Film Festival. His short film Bread won Best US Narrative short at the 2011 Rome International Film Festival, where it premiered. He was an Associate Producer on 2011 Independent Spirit Award nominee An African Election. Current projects include a scripted historical civil rights epic with the King and Poitier families.
