About Marianne Ferrari
Marianne Ferrari is a Bronx-born, proud native New Yorker. As a little girl, Marianne heard the tale (over and over and over again) of her immigrant Italian parents meeting, dancing and falling in love on the cruise liner that traversed them to their impossible dream - a new life in America, a year to the day before it sank! The destiny of their journey and all that came with it shaped Marianne as an artist in every way. She dreamed her own impossible dream up on Tar Beach, her Bronx rooftop. The sights, sounds, smells - the entire colorful cast of characters from her Morris Park neighborhood: everyone helping each other, yelling at each other, laughing with each other, playing stoopball, stickball, handball (many balls! ), "curb fishing," the amazing Italian gardens shaded by grapevines - life so vibrant, so rich...in technicolor! It set the stage for Marianne's passion for storytelling in her highest Vision - a life in Theatre, Film and TV.Marianne has appeared in over 60 theatrical productions in her 37 year acting career including 3 seasons at the Williamstown Theatre Festival as well as the Edinburgh Festival. She has appeared on stage in New York, Los Angeles and regionally. She tells the story of her Bronx coming of age in her solo play, Guido Girl Ascending workshopped in New York and Los Angeles and its newest iteration on the boards Off Broadway in 2022. She is adapting Guido Girl Ascending for the big and small screen. On TV, she guest starred on Elementary, Younger, Without A Trace, Brooklyn South, Public Morals and Cybill.
