About Mansi Jain
Mansi Jain is a writer-director who has made several successful short films like Everything is Fine, Nawab and Chhuri. She has written multiple commissioned features for studios in Mumbai. Two of her feature films as writer-director are in development with leading Indian production companies and she has written two high profile Amazon Originals for Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby. Mansi graduated from Columbia University, New York City with an MFA in Screenwriting in 2017. Her most recent short Nawab stars Aparshakti Khurrana. It had its premiere at MAMI 2019. Before Nawab, she wrote and directed Chhuri (2017), a short-film starring Anurag Kashyap, Tisca Chopra and Surveen Chawla. The film had its world premiere at the 19th MAMI film festival and has over 9 million views online. Mansi's thesis short film for Columbia University called Everything is Fine, was awarded the Katharina Otto Bernstein Grant, the Panavision Grant and won the IFP Audience Award at the 30th Columbia University Film Festival at Lincoln Center, New York. The film went on to win Best Film Awards at major festivals like the 21st Brussels Short Film and the 9th Jagran Film Festival. Both Chhuri and Everything is Fine were nominated for Jio Filmfare Awards 2017. All three films are on Youtube. In 2015, Mansi co-wrote and associate directed a noir feature film called Moh Maya Money (In Greed We Trust) which opened across India in 2016 and is on Netflix. In 2016, she was selected for NFDC Screenwriting Lab where she developed her comedy-feature screenplay called Time to Go (Hai Main Mara) under Antoine Le Bois, Romain Compignt and Urmi Juvekar. Before becoming a writer-director, she spent a summer studying acting and directing at Harvard under Marcus Stern. Earlier in 2019, she wrote a script for Neeraj Pandey's company Friday Filmworks. She is presently based in Mumbai and works on multiple cross-cultural projects in Asia and USA....
