Upon graduation from college she married her college sweetheart Byron Huffman who promptly moved her to Texas. She had 2 children - a boy and a girl and during their young years she stayed home to raise them. She had a career as an elementary school teacher with most of those teaching kindergartners. She retired from teaching and began the pursuit of her bucket list items.
