About Kim Winter Mako
Kim Winter Mako was born in Hackensack, NJ, grew up in Oakland, NJ, and attended Indian Hills High School. She went on to study Theatre at Syracuse University's school of Visual & Performing Arts, as well as a semester at The Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center/National Theatre Institute, in New London, Connecticut.In New York City, Kim was a founding member of aTheatreCo., a non-profit theater company whose members consisted mostly of SU Drama alumni, and produced primarily original plays. Members included Craig Walker, Tom Everett Scott, and Taye Diggs. Through ATheatreCo., Kim was cast in her first small film role in John Hyam's, One Dog Day.Kim is a continuing Master Class student of Bob Krakower and Amy Lyndon.Kim lives in Asheville, NC as well as northern New Jersey, and works in Atlanta, Wilmington, Charlotte, and New York City/tri-state area.Some of Kim's short stories and poetry have been published in literary magazines such as Sou'wester, The Nervous Breakdown, The American Literary Review, Ducts.org, Stoneboat, The Citron Review, and others....
