About John O'Halloran
John grew up in Dublin, Ireland. Growing up he had two passions, football (soccer), and singing. On his merit as a goalkeeper he won a scholarship to the University of Illinois where he was a member of the NAIA National Championship winning team. He studied English Literature and Journalism, and developed a love for writing poetry. Eventually he formed 'the UnXpektd', and continues recording original songs to this day. Acting as an extension of John's performing world came into play when he was cast in Black Mass and was included in a gun running scene. Instantly hooked, he took some acting classes, joined a improvisation comedy troupe, and auditioned for plays at area community theaters. He was being cast in plays, adapted from books he studied in graduate school and the die was cast. John's first TV role was First Officer Brigham with Matthew James Thomas on _The Devil You Know (2016)_ directed by Gus Van Sant and written by Jenji Kohan. His next TV role was playing Gene opposite Frankie Shaw in her Showtime hit series, SMILF. His dream next role would be to play the character of Mr. Enfield, the erstwhile narrator, in Robert Louis Stevenson's 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' -- for which he has every line memorized, internalized, and characterized verbatim....
