About John C. Forman
John C. Forman was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in cities in Ohio, Southern California, Utah, Pennsylvania and Michigan. His first onstage role was in Salt Lake City where, at the age of 14, he started his very first rock 'n' roll band. John moved to Wyandotte, MI, a Detroit suburb for his last two years of high school. Here he explored his talents as an actor at school and in community theater. He also played and sang in coffeehouses and small venues all around the Detroit area.Awarded a full-ride acting scholarship to Eastern Michigan University, John's junior year included an Exchange Program taking him to Reading, England's Berkshire College of Education. He performed in the college productions and extended his overseas stay to continue acting. Returning to the States after a life-changing journey hitchhiking across Europe, John took a break from post-secondary education... and joined a jazz-rock band! After two years on the Midwest 'club circuit', John moved to San Francisco to re-start his acting career. He got his Equity card as the Assistant Stage Manager/Male Understudy for four roles in the World Premiere of "Snoopy!!!", the sequel to the Peanuts musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown". Five shows back-to-back in four years cemented John's reputation as a respected Production Stage Manager. He was also chosen by Mayor George Moscone to be the theater representative to the San Francisco Council for the Arts. He studied with the legendary acting teacher Eric Morris through four years of commuting between San Francisco and Hollywood.Newly married, John moved to New York City in the summer of 1979. He found an Upper West side apartment and soon was a working Off-Broadway P.S.M. and continued as such for the next four years. His last show as P.S.M. was for Joseph Papp and the prestigious New York Shakespeare Festival. After almost 12 years in NYC John moved to Atlanta prior to its rise as a regional film and TV production center. In Atlanta, John worked as an acting teacher, actor and producer. He founded and ran his own professional acting training program for over seven years. The return to acting included being cast as Phil Romano, the rich New Jersey Italian, in "That Championship Season". His most lauded stage performance was as George in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf." John was selected as a Theater Artist in Atlanta's "Arts in Education" program. He also worked as a day player on his first SAG film, "World Traveler" and then returned to the Detroit area in 2002.John's first major work in Detroit was opposite Eminem in "When I'm Gone", one of the rap artist's most powerful music videos. John continued in local commercials, industrials and short films. He was cast as the lead character in two internationally viewed music videos by Skrillex with Damian Marley and Insane Clown Posse, both from award-winning writer/director/producers, the Deka Brothers. By August 2019, these 3 music videos had received over 1.1 billion views and counting. The Brothers then cast John in a short feature, "Father & Son", that they wrote specifically with him in mind. Its first festival win was the 2015 Best Film of the Hollywood Short Film Festival. John's review for "Father & Son" from the French magazine journalist Gilles Rolland included: "... John C. Forman delivers a true performance, somewhere between the composure of Bill Nighy and the craziness of Gary Oldman ...".John continues to teach and work wherever his services are required....
