About Jim Martin
Jim Martin grew up in a small town in central Massachusetts with more cows than people - in fact, it was so small that it only had one stoplight. He went on to attend Emerson College, where he wrote and directed multiple short films. Two of these shorts - "Corey Applecore: Diary of an Athlete" and "Sprinters 2: Making the Grade" - were so important that they were shot on 16mm film, and the film looked so good and had such funny material that they were screened in two theaters, won an award and garnered critical acclaim from people who aren't real critics. Now firmly planted in LA, Jim has been writing his little heart out (features, television, short stories, web content - it's all the same in the dark) and working in the glamorous and high-profile world of assistantdom. After a stint assisting on ABC's "Traveler", Jim moved onto assist Tim Kring on NBC's "Heroes", which is where he's spent his time during the week for the past few years. Jim also writes for Heroes' vast 360 environment. While on the show he has written or co-written 3 webseries, seven webcomics and more. Then, in 2009-2010, Jim Martin hit it big and wrote episode 13 of season 4 of "Heroes". The episode is called "Let it Bleed."After Heroes wrapped, Jim went on to write/perform/produce a massive transmedia project called "The Conspiracy for Good" with Tim Kring. Jim wrote over 200 pages of produced content and traveled to Stockholm and London for 17 and 30 days, respectively during this production. How epic? "The Conspiracy For Good" won 2 BANFF awards, was a SXSW festival finalist and was nominated for an International Interactive Emmy!As of August 2011 Jim has produced and developed an independent TV pilot entitled OLD STUD that was directed by long time friend Rick Caplan that is currently in post-production, he is writing a Novel for Palindrome Media and he is producing and writing an international interactive webseries called "The Karada".In his spare time he writes TV Pilots and Feature Spec scripts that he wants to sell. He lives in Los Angeles with his lovely girlfriend Lauren and a magical creature named Zephyr....
