About Jacob J. Lau
Jacob Jake Peterson Lau is an American-Singaporean Chinese actor born in Singapore, Singapore. He lived in Singapore for 24 years before moving to the United States in November 2014. Being a free spirited person, he couldn't settle for less. He has lived in Los Angeles, CA Anchorage, AK Greenville, SC and New York City. Jacob is an avid traveler who is always moving around. Having been to 11 different countries and 36 of the 50 states, he has seen a lot and experienced a lot. Jacob attended elementary school at Fuhua Primary School and then high school at Jurongville Secondary School. After graduating with O levels in 2007, he attended college at Republic Polytechnic and obtained a specialized diploma in Civil Aviation which is the equivalent of a US Associate's Degree.He is a man of many passions. He loved singing and acting ever since he was young. He joined the English Drama Club and Choir in high school and was very active in various school and national performances. His first performance was with the English Drama Club in the Annual School Speech Day as a dancer and has to also double up in the same event with the school Choir. In 2005, with his participation in the biannual Singapore Youth Festival, the Choir won a Silver award nationally. In that very same year, the Choir performed in the annually televised National Day Parade in full view of the entire Singapore Government cabinet. In 2007, Jacob became the Sectional Leader of the Tenor and Baritone sections. Then in that same year, the Choir won a bronze award in the biannual Singapore Youth Festival. Jacob was also involved in the Boys' Brigade uniformed group and the Audio Visual Aids Club. He also held several leadership positions in class and school. After graduating from high school, Jacob's passion for acting took a step further by auditioning at MediaCorp, a local TV station in Singapore and has landed roles in a number of TV series and a docu-drama as a principal actor. Besides acting and singing, he also took piano lessons since he was 4 years old. He did not stop there. On the physical front, he also took Taekwondo lessons since he was 9 and also enjoys and plays soccer occasionally.He never thought of pursuing acting as a career until in 2017 when a role came calling for him. He has experiences in both acting and singing performances both on stage and in front of the camera since 2005.Being a person who takes his freedom seriously, he did some political work in Singapore which was eventually shut down and persecuted by the government. He now lives in Los Angeles, California....
