Eklund began her career on stage, mostly in Shakespeare, in her ingenue years. While living in NYC she acted in countless Off Broadway theaters, and primarily as an ensemble member of the Irondale Ensemble Theater where she joined Actor's Equity Association. After a 5 year transition as a skydiver in Upstate NY, she found herself at Vassar College as the Casting Coordinator. Heidi grew her casting role from her assistant position when she saw a need to connect students with professional actors in the Hudson Valley NY Community. Heidi cast numerous short films while working at Vassar for over a decade.Heidi is now the owner of Hudson Valley Casting and has gratefully served as the casting director for an abundant number of feature films, commercial and TV projects. Heidi still loves acting and will return to the other side of the camera when she is old and gray. "I always knew my acting career would blossom when I was past the age of 60." For now she is content casting films, commercials and other projects. A love of Heidi's is helping others (which is why casting is so appealing, having the opportunity to be creative and connect actors to meaningful projects).
