About Heather Maltman
Currently Heather is working on season 2 and 3 of the hit kids TV show Bluey as an Assistant producer, and also working as a lead in the Improv Theatre Sydney's live house shows. In Feb 2021 her acting part in Young Rock from NBC was released on Amazon Prime. During this time Heather continues to work on her own shows and films that speak heavily to her experiences as a light skinned indigenous woman. Heather has done everything from hosting breakfast radio shows nationally with Osher Gunsberg. Then being given her own one the Gold Coast called Heather, Dan & Ben, in prime-time breakfast radio. To the panel work on Studio Ten or The Project, and even working side by side with comedian Joel Creasy, on I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here Now. Whereby she not only climbed out on a steel beam over a gorge but also did a tug of war over a giant damn. Heather's acting career is nothing to bat an eye lid at. She has worked with Rebecca Gibney, and Peter O'Brian in Wanted. Was picked for UnIndian starring Brett Lee and Tannishtha Chatterjee. When that wasn't enough, Heather started producing with her mentor Anupam Sharma, and made her own short films that have won awards. Just performing is not enough, as Heather wants to make a difference with her stardom. She found the laughs stop for so many of her industry friends when the mic turns off. So, she started a podcast all about mental health struggles. It's now heard in over 9 countries worldwide. With platforms on more than 11 sites including Spotify and iTunes. Has had more than 5k in downloads just in 24 episodes. As well as they're most star reaction of continuous messages from audience members who have found peace in the series, knowing they are not alone. One woman messaged Heather directly to tell her she had decided not to take her own life after hearing an episode on suicide. To which Heather now communicates with her often. Heather lead the production with the help of UNSW students for a live show, Oleanna by David Mamet, to open the White Ribbon Awareness week in Sydney. To help raise awareness for Domestic Violence. But that doesn't even scratch the surface of how much work this woman puts in. She donates time to workshops with the PCYC helping young men from disadvantaged homes. As well as mentoring young women in entertainment, on how to protect themselves in a very swayed industry. Recently she has started working for the team at Tomorrow Man/ Woman, teaching adults and children about support and communication. This woman is not afraid to ask the tough questions that could seriously make a difference in many lives. The same questions she is willing to answer herself....
