About D.J. King
D.J King, born Damon King Jr., is a native of Miami, Fl. D.J spent the majority of his adolescence playing sports such as Football, Track and Field, and Basketball. His passion for the arts came much later in life. He caught the acting bug when he attended Florida A&M University, and took an intro to theatre course. It was only then, D.J realized acting was his passion and what he wanted to pursue professionally for the rest of his life. "I felt at home in the theatre and around the other artists. I was also kind of a peculiar kid, so for the first time in my life I didn't feel judged. In this community, I could do something silly, or make mistakes and laugh at myself and still be confident because we were all doing it and being supportive of one another. I don't know if I ever had that before. I also thoroughly enjoyed it, it lit me up like nothing ever before."Since then, D.J has been studying the craft of acting vigorously and relentlessly. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida A&M in Theatre Performance. D.J credits Will Smith as one of his Mentors for always giving thought provoking life and career lessons....
