About Derrick Strickland
Born in Conyers, GA, Derrick studied Broadcast Journalism and Business at Georgia State University. From there he embarked on an adventure of a lifetime and lived all over the world - Paris, Tokyo, Italy, New York - doing both print and commercial work. He appeared in over 50 commercials for clients such as Diet Coke, Pepsi, Armani and Nivea among many others. He also starred in a music video for the song This Ain't A Love Song by Bon Jovi. Citing weather as the primary catalyst, he moved from New York to Los Angeles for good where he continued his work in print and commercials and began working in all phases of film, video and music production. He has worked in front of and behind the camera, writing, shooting and editing in a myriad of productions as well as coordinating productions in the office, solidifying his overall knowledge of the production process. Most recently, he a script he penned (Made In Japan) was optioned, two more (Hannah Saves Hollywood and The Get Back Girl) are in negotiation....
