David M Raine was born in Philadelphia, PA. As a small child he dreamed of being a "part time airline pilot and part time comedian". By the age of 13, David was enrolled in the New Freedom Theater program where he trained in acting, singing, ballet, jazz and tap. Once high school time came around, the dream changed to "part time actor and part time professional football player". After some years of regional and tour experience in theater, David was ready to graduate from high school. He was excepted to the University of Arts in Philadelphia, but chose to take a chance by auditioning and being accepted (partial scholarship) to AMDA (the American Musical and Dramatic Academy) in New York City. There, is where his career picked up momentum. David was quickly cast as the first actor of color to lead the cast of "Hair" across Europe as Berger. Upon his return, he was offered a role in "Rent", which was still in its workshop stage. He decided to turn the offer down, because of course, at that time he was pursuing his latest dream.... being a "part time actor, and part time rock star". David had become the lead singer of Hundred Pound Head, a rock band that haunted the nightclubs of the East and West Villages in NYC. He performed his original "soul/rock" style of music in various clubs, in various countries for about 8yrs. In the middle of that, he was "discovered" by Brooks Bros. while walking his dog near his east village apt one day. David's modeling career was born. Although modeling was never his dream, he was very successful...spotted in magazines and billboards and television commercials around the World. As David began to mature and search for true satisfaction in his life, he realized that he needed to returned his original love, Acting. David Raine is now a Full Time Actor..........who writes songs.......and shoots commercial print and TV.............part time.::Michael D.
David M Raine is an American Actor, Writer, and Musician. He was born in Philadelphia where he studied theater and dance at Freedom Theater. He was granted a partial scholarship to AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy) in NYC. Once leaving AMDA, he was cast as Berger in a European tour of the Broadway Musical, "Hair". When he returned to the States, he was bitten by the music bug and pursued a career as a front man and songwriter for the rock band, Hundred Pound Head. Later he took over all songwriting responsibilities and the band went on to perform overseas, popular NY clubs, and even for Senator Chuck Schumer's Democratic Convention. In the meantime, David supported himself with a successful modeling career, before moving into national commercials in 2000. This step reminded him of how much he missed acting, and he refocused himself and his career goals. From then till now he has appeared in films, TV, and off-Broadway. he is now writing and pitching his own works in hope of producing quality and diverse storytelling....
